Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field 5+ years of professional experience in the aquaculture industry and/or marine resources management Previous experience working with fish farming communities Comfortable interacting with everyone across the supply chain; demonstrated coalition builder Understanding of sustainable, economic, and social development programs and approaches Can act as an individual contributor, but excel at collaboration and working as a team player with your peers and external constituents to deliver the best results Track record of exceptional customer service, supported by excellent written, technical, and verbal communication skills in English; additional global language is an advantage Able to prioritize work effectively, problem solve, and handle detail-oriented projects in a systematic and highly organized manner in a fast-paced environment Ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally Proficient basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce a plus A passion for Fair Trade USA’s mission, vision, and accomplishments

Description:

This position is responsible for expanding the impact of Fair Trade USA’s proven model to fish farmers and the aquaculture sector by supporting the growth of FTUSA’s Seafood program via certification of aquaculture supply chains. As the Aquaculture Manager for Seafood, you will be responsible for implementing the overarching strategy for the emerging Aquaculture program in alignment with organizational goals and the strategies of the Seafood and Standards teams. You will work directly with a variety of stakeholders from the aquaculture sector including NGOs, audit bodies, fish farming communities, exporters, importers, and distributors, as well as our Standards, Impact, and Certification teams at Fair Trade USA. Responsibilities: Implement overarching strategy for Aquaculture program development Day-to-day management of global aquaculture pilot project for the Seafood and Standards program Liaise with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, our collaborative partner on this project Liaise with aquaculture farms and farm staff to execute pilot activities Produce materials and tools for fish farms, stakeholders, and industry as needed In conjunction with the Senior Manager, coordinate with Certification team, audit bodies, and third-party implementers to ensure successful trainings, audits, and certification Develop and manage internal relationships through constant communication and ongoing collaboration with our Certification, Standards, Impact, and Business Development teams Stay abreast of industry news, programs, opportunities and challenges, and educate the Supply Chain, Business Development, Standards, and Certification teams as appropriate Ensure effective communication with industry and stakeholders Coordinate with the Impact team and field staff to implement the Impact Management System and manage associated data appropriate
