This activity aims to increase production in an attempt to fish hatcheries Jelawat fish (Leptobarbus hoevenii Bleeker). Broodstock maintenance is done in 3 different containers. The feeding of artificial feed (30-32% protein) is done 2 times a day with a combination of natural feed (leaves) given 1 week 2 times. Accuracy in the broodstock selection process to determine the male and female which mature gonads must be considered, because it affects the number of larvae / seeds to be produced. Broodstock selection is done by observing the gonads mature phenotype characters, which can be determined by looking at the characteristics - physical characteristics of the broodstock male and female gonads mature (ready to spawn). Estimates of the number of males and females will breed conducted before the selection to determine the number of larvae/seed to generate, because the breeding broodstock exceeds the capacity of larval rearing container / seed will increase production costs. For artificial spawning fish jelawat male and female ratio is 2 : 1. Activity results showed that the maintenance of broodstock jelawat in 3 different containers to give positive results, which is obtained by the broodstock mature gonads to do activities of spawning-made every month without depending by the season by using a broodstock who came from different pools every month, so there is a recovery period for the broodstock has been cultivated in the previous month. Results of 5 cycles of selection activities showed increased accuracy in determining the number of male and female broodstock to be cultivated, visible only in the 1st cycle of errors in the process of determining the broodstock mature gonads and the average of 80% ovulate and spermiasi. The amount of the broodstock who experienced death before and after stripping decreased after repair aircraft handling pre and post striping on cycle-1 sd to -5.
