Gold mining activities and dump waste of rubber in jambi batanghari river also caused environment heavy metal pollution. Heavy metal is stable and disentangle pollutant. The purpose of this activity is to know the content of heavy metals such as Pb , Cd , and Hg on river fishes especially batanghari river which is consumed by the society.

The content of heavy metals analyzed using atomic absorption spektrometry ( AAS ) and also using mercury analizer cold vapor. The first preparation of fishpond sample are washing  take out of meat, drying, pounded, screening with 100 mesh, solution by Teflon bomb digestion method  until got solution of sample to analized. The parameter of AAS consist of analysis optimum condition, calibration curve, and used concentration range.

Based on analysis results, concentration of heavy metal in riner fishes have increase year by year, it's caused the increasing number of gold mining and dump waste rubber. The concentration heavy metal of aquafish is lower than nature fish. The content level of heavy metal Pb , Cd and Hg is still under the limit permittable  heavy metal containing in fish and its differential product according the goverment regulation from sni 7387: 2009.
