The Groupers that wellknown as "TIKTANG" is a new species resulted from cross-breeding between the parent : female  Marbled grouper (Epinephelus microdon) and male giant grouper (Epinephelus lanceolatus). Hybridization has been successfully carried out. The goal is to determine the biological behaviour and growth observation of grouper fish that  reared in cage. This aquaculture engineering is being expected to produce a hybrid grouper fish rearing technology of "TIKTANG" effectively and applicable. The outcome is to exploite hybrid grouper fish rearing technology of "TIKTANG" in floating net cages in mass scale. Grouper of "TIKTANG" still in the research phase of Aquaculture engineering before its being  released as new species in 2016. The growth in length and weight of grouper of "TIKTANG" better than tiger grouper growth, but slower than the growth of grouper "CANTANG" (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus >< Epinephelus lanceolatus).  SGR is 1.652%. SR is 82%. FCR is 1: 8. The growth of those grouper is being compared at cultivation at three different locations :  Pecaron (Situbondo, East Java ), Karimunjawa (Jepara, Central Java), and the Pegametan Gulf (Singaraja - Bali). The results of measurements of physical and chemical parameters of water quality in Brackish Water Aquaculture Development Center (BADC) Situbondo  (the temperature is  26.83 to 29.20 °C; pH 7.76 to 8.22; the Dissolved Oxygen is 7.27 to 7.28 mg / L, the salinity concentration 32-35 ‰; nitrate concentration is 0.00 to 5.00 mg / L , nitrite concentration  is 0.00 to 0.25 mg / L, ammonia concentration is 0.25 to 0.75 mg / L, the phosphate concentration 0.10 to 0.50 mg / L) indicates that the water quality in the cultivationof groupers of "TIKTANG" is accordance with the optimum water quality standards for aquaculture. The water quality of "TIKTANG" grouper  growth at 3 locations are relatively the same. Grouper of "TIKTANG" is an alternative grouper species diversity in the future development and need to be followed for the official release from Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
