MarketMaker is a national network of states that connect farmers and fishermen with food retailers, grocery stores, processors, caterers, chefs, and consumers. More than 500 fish and shellfish farmers and fishermen registered their businesses in MarketMaker because buyers of all types access its online database to find products to meet their specific needs. Through MarketMaker, producers can reach more buyers and more efficiently form profitable business alliances with other businesses handling fish and shellfish products, including processors, wholesalers, retailers, and restaurants.  Consumers and buyers use MarketMaker to locate suppliers selling just what they need.

Search for the nearest supplier of locally grown catfish, tilapia, hybrid striped bass, freshwater prawn, saltwater shrimp, crawfish, oysters or clams in the U.S. For example, search for freshwater prawn suppliers registered in the National Food MarketMaker Program. To find local freshwater prawn suppliers: (1) Do a business search among Fishery at <http://ms.foodmarketmaker.com>; (2) Type "freshwater prawn"; and (3) Search by city, county, state, distance or zip code. The MarketMaker map shows the geographical locations of 8 of the 9 prawn suppliers. To learn more about the businesses, click the links to their business profiles.
