Nutritional research of Olive Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) for the last 20 years in Korea

Olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) is one of the most important aquaculture species in Korea. A number of nutritional researches have been done to develop the complete formulated diets. This review will summarize the results from the series of previous researches on nutrition of olive flounder: 1) macro/micro nutrient requirements including protein, P/E ratio, microparticulate diets, essential fatty acid, vitamins and minerals 2) fish meal & fish oil replacement such as soybean meal, fisheries by-products, beef tallow and poultry oil 3) additives such as β-1,3 glucan, probiotics, chlorella powder, wood vinegar, song-gang® stone 4) mercury (Hg) detoxification by multi-antioxidants (vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium)
