Spawning activity determined by availability of the mature broodstocks. One of the factors that affect the ovarian development is the nutritional quality. A combination of several sources of feed nutrients will complete lack some nutrient sources. Spiny lobster broodstocks are omnivores, variations of several sources of feed nutrients is expected to get ovarian development of broodstocks. The method developed in this study is the broodstocks maturation by administration of variations in the type of feed as; trash fish, oyster, sea urchins and seaweed.  Gonadal maturation conducted on concrete tank holding 10 tons and floating netcage (3x3x3 m). Daily feeding, with the provision of the highest ratios in the late afternoon.

The results of this study showed treatment C (feed mixture of oyster + bulubabi + seaweed) gives the best results, as shown by the high percentage of the ovarian development of broodstocks (55.5%) compared two other treatments, treatment A (12.5%) and treatment B ( 25.0%). The broodstocks used in this study is a wild catch size> 200 g  (CL 60 mm) for the female and> 300 g (CL 70 mm) for the male.  Spawning occurs when the female carry out spermatoforik (sperm sacs) at the base of the last uropoda. Nauplisoma produced ± 10.000-20.000 in a single spawning. Biologically,  water quality of media less supported for breeding and production of nauplisoma, total bacteria 1,2x106 - 6,4x106 CFU / ml.
